DENVER (KDVR) -- The Denver Nuggets are ready to raise a banner at Ball Arena, and now we know when the NBA Champions will get the chance to do so - Oct. 24, 2023.The pregame celebration will take place ahead of the Nuggets' season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers. Here’s how many people were at the Nuggets parade The season opener will be broadcast on TNT and is one of 22 nationally televised games for the Nuggets. Another featured game will be on Christmas Day when the Golden State Warriors come to Denver for a 12:30 p.m. matinee game that will be broadcast on ABC.In total, the Nuggets will have nine games on TNT, nine on ESPN and four on ABC. The Nuggets season ended June 12 when they beat the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals. (AP) — State labor officials have temporarily shut down more than two dozen Boston Market restaurants in New Jersey after finding multiple violations of workers’ rights, including more than $600,000 in back wages owed to 314 employees.A stop-work order was issued Tuesday by the Department of Labor against 27 restaurants across New Jersey. The state also imposed nearly $2.6 million in penalties against the firm.The Associated Press sent an email seeking comment to Boston Market’s corporate office in Golden, Colorado, on Thursday. There are 31 Boston Market restaurants in New Jersey and 310 nationwide, according to its website. A woman who barricaded themselves at a South Florida business prompted a quick response by SWAT teams. SWAT and Wilton Manors Police arrived at the scene at Dragon Lily Tattoo, located at 500 W. Oakland Park Blvd, Thursday afternoon. As units continue to work the scene, traffic at Oakland Park Boulevard, between Andrews and Powerline Road, has been closed. Worcester police asked for the public’s help Thursday afternoon after police said a non-custodial parent took two of her biological children from a site on Brussel Street. Police identified the woman who allegedly took the children as Tiffany Cancel, 47. Police also identified the children as 11-year-old Joaquin Cancel and 9-year-old Avery Cancel. WASHINGTON (AP) — Two Florida men have been sentenced on felony charges related to storming the U.S. Capitol during the January 2021 insurrection.Michael Steven Perkins, 40, of Plant City, was sentenced Thursday to four years in prison in District of Columbia federal court, according to court records. Joshua Christopher Doolin, 25, of Lakeland, received one year and six months on Wednesday. Both were convicted earlier this year of felony civil disorder, entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds and disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds. Doolin was also convicted of theft of government property. Perkins was separately convicted of assaulting a federal officer with a deadly or dangerous weapon and engaging in acts of physical violence while on the restricted Capitol grounds. Doolin and Perkins were arrested on June 30, 2021, along with co-defendants Joseph Hutchinson and Olivia Pollock, officials said. A man who was found dead on the roadway in Toronto’s Moss Park neighbourhood earlier this week was viciously attacked prior to being struck by a vehicle. Police say first responders were called to Sherbourne Street just north of Queen Street East around 10:50 p.m. Tuesday night following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. When police arrived they found a man lying in the middle of Sherbourne Street, where he was pronounced dead. He has since been identified as 54-year-old Douglas James MacDonald. Investigators from the homicide unit determined MacDonald was physically attacked by another man on the west side of Sherbourne Street. As MacDonald attempted to flee his attacker, he stumbled and fell onto the roadway where the attack continued. Police say seconds later, a car travelling northbound on Sherbourne Street struck MacDonald as he lay on the roadway. The suspect fled north on Sherbourne on a bicycle.
