MEXICO CITY (AP) — Tropical Storm Hilary strengthened into a hurricane early Thursday off Mexico’s Pacific coast and it could become become a major hurricane as it keeps heading north over the ocean.The U.S. National Hurricane Center said that Hilary had maximum winds of 75 mph (120 kph), and it was located 320 miles (515 kilometers) from the Mexican port city of Manzanillo, far from land.The hurricane was moving at 13 mph (20 mph) west-northwest, and it was expected to become a major hurricane by Thursday night or early Friday as it moves toward the Baja peninsula, near the U.S. border.Associated Press, The Associated PressMan wanted for committing indecent act on TTC subway

A man is wanted for allegedly committing an indecent act while aboard a TTC subway.Toronto police responded to an indecent act call on August 6 at Warden Station.It’s reported that a passenger and a man boarded the westbound subway at Kennedy Station. WASHINGTON (AP) — The top White House lawyer will leave next month after a nearly three-year run helping President Joe Biden weigh legal considerations as he implemented his pandemic response, battled Republican investigations and crafted major legislation.Stuart Delery joined Biden’s transition legal team after the Democrat defeated then-President Donald Trump in November 2020. Delery served as deputy counsel before he was elevated to the top job last summer after Biden’s first counsel, Dana Remus, left the White House. Delery is the first openly gay person to be White House counsel. CHICAGO — A man was fatally shot while driving after a gunman opened fire into his vehicle on the city's Far North Side.The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. Thursday in the 2600 block of West Glenlake in the West Ridge neighborhood.Police said a man, believed to be in his late 20s, was driving his car when an unknown man approached and fired multiple shots into the vehicle.According to police, the victim then crashed into another vehicle before coming to a stop.The man sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was pronounced dead on the scene. TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A pilot with LATAM Airlines pilot died Monday after suffering a medical emergency during a flight from Florida to Chile, according to the airline.Flight LA505, from Miami to Santiago, was diverted to Tocumen International Airport in Panama City, Panama, after one of the Boeing 787's three pilots became ill, according to the airline. "All the necessary protocols were followed during the flight to safeguard the life of theaffected pilot. JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio (WTRF) - An Ohio customer has said she found pennies in the Chicken McNuggets she ordered from a local McDonald’s.Beth Rupert Warren said she had a responsibility to report the alleged incident to the authorities out of concern for the safety of others. Police said they were called to a McDonald’s in Wintersville, Ohio, on Aug. 14 around 8 p.m. regarding a food complaint.After speaking with Warren, they documented the incident and spoke with management to make sure everyone was aware.Warren, who reported finding three pennies, said she wants people to be sure to check their food to make sure it's safe, according to Wintersville Police Captain Jason Fabian. “They showed great concern that it was going to be a safety factor if a child would get their hands on the food," said Fabian. AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Classes were canceled Thursday morning for Travis Early College High School because of an "incident" that happened on campus. In a social media thread, the Austin Independent School District said the campus was safe and there was no danger to students or staff. AISD said students who were already on buses will be returned home. For students already on campus, the district is coordinating transportation back home.The school is located on East Oltorf Street, just west of Interstate 35. MECHANICVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Mechanicville man was arrested following an arson investigation, according to police. Neil Lescault, 48, is facing multiple charges. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! On the morning of August 10, officers responded to the city docks for a reported arson on the bathhouse deck. Following an investigation, police determined that Lescault damaged the property by igniting a fire on the decking. Police took Lescault into custody on August 11. He was charged with fourth-degree arson and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
