DENVER (KDVR) — As Thanksgiving Day wound down, a snowstorm began to move into Colorado. And it didn't take long for the weather to affect the roads.Northern Colorado, including Boulder and Fort Collins, are under a winter storm warning, with the area expected to get 5-12 inches of snow. The warning went into effect Thursday afternoon and is expected to stay in effect until 5 a.m. Saturday. WASHINGTON (AP) — Charles Peters, founding editor of The Washington Monthly and its editor-in-chief for three decades, died Thursday at age 96.In confirming his death in his Washington home, the journal reported that Peters had been in declining health for several years, mainly from congestive heart failure.Peters, a native of Charleston, West Virginia, brought an influential neoliberal voice to the politics of his day, challenging the left as well as the right in political circles cleaved along those ideological lines. He served as the magazine’s editor from 1969 to 2000. There are no true sides and most definitely no scorekeeping, but there is a lot of love and laughter every Thanksgiving morning when members of the Battis-Bohen family gather for their annual touch-football game in St. Paul.Thursday marked the 90th year the assorted family members have come together to toss around a football and catch up with one another.Mike Battis, 77, has been partaking in the tradition every year since he was 8 and his family played in an alley off Bohland Avenue in the Highland Park neighborhood.
